The Bulldogs held a one point lead at the half (33-32), maintained a small advantage throughout much of the second half but the Cougars prevailed. Washington State led 55-49 with 6:55 remaining, 66-52 with !:30 on the clock and finished on top 66-55.
Sophomore Garret Johnson paced the Dogs with 15 points and six boards. Greg Smith contributed a close-to-a-double-double of 9/10.
Former New Mexico State recruit Faisal Aiden led WSU with 28 points and Klay Thompson was close behind with 22.
