Kyle Luckett not D-1 eligible

7-0 Kyle Luckett of Chabot College (a California community college) has received some recent 'play' in the recruiting sections of UH basketball message boards.

FYI - Luckett is not D-1 eligible.

Here's Chabot Coach Denny Aye on his player: "We are getting weekly calls from high majors on him. He put his name in for the NBA Draft five years ago out of high school, so he has no D-1 eligibility. Kyle is improving and has been lifting weights and getting in better shape. Plus, his feet aren't hurting him anymore. He looks to have a great year -- scary for opponents -- and should get some pro looks for size, athleticism and skill set."

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
