It seems like a longshot -- considering the competition -- but New Mexico State continues to receive mention in the recruitment of 2011 southern California backcourter Cezar Guerrero, who originally committed to Western Kentucky but now has bigger fish in pursuit.
In the latest article by Jerry Meyers of Rivals, Iowa, New Mexico State and UCLA were at the gym to catch Guerrero in his most recent game.

Top CA prep guard with a NMSU mention
Jerry Meyer at Rivals is reporting that southern CA prep backcourter Cezar Guerrero has re-opened his recruitment -- he had verbaled to Western Kentucky but didn't sign a letter of intent during the open period -- and Meyer lists New Mexico State as a possibility. Cezar Guerrero to Western Kentucky
We never thought this southern Californian backcourter -- Cezar Guerrero --would depart from the western U.S. but he's headed to Western Kentucky.
Fresno State offered, according to Jason Stamm at Inside Hilltopper Sports (a Rivals sub is required), and was in the 5-foot-11 Guerrero's final five.
