A followup on Jordan Vandenberg

Remember Jordan Vandenberg? The 7-footer out of Australia who was apparently strongly considering Boise State at the time (the Greg Graham era) with some mention of Nevada?

He's a sophomore at North Carolina State and averaging 1.2 points and 1.6 rebounds a game this season. Vandenberg has played in 17 of 25 games,.149 minutes in total while shooting 57% and having 11 blocked shots.

Vandenberg needed to gain weight and he is now listed at 7-foot-1 and 248 pounds but his PT is obviously still very limited..

Bigs do tend to take longer to develop and there's no guarantee things would be any rosier at BSU but it looks like the young man overreached. But if he is happy, then so be it.

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
