Friday p.m.'s WAC basketball links and notes

Chris Murray has posted his four keys to the game and a prediction on the Boise State - host Nevada matchup. The Broncos are fighting for second while the Wolf Pack needs the game to remain over .500.

+++++

Jeff Portnoy checks in with his latest blog entry on UH hoops. Is it really true that Hiram Thompson played for three head coaches while at Hawaii? (as a commenter has written)

+++++

Sam Wasson offers a commentary at his Bleed Crimson site (go there and scroll past the initial paragraph) of which we unabashedly concur. How can any player not get 'up' and be 'excited' for a conference game especially this time of year? Maybe coaches need to start doing pulse checks.

+++++

We somehow missed this earlier -- Jason Groves' game prediction for the New Mexico State - San Jose State game. PTW would type (and I guess we are going to) that he puts Miss Cleo to shame but MC did a mighty fine case of that to herself. So we'll go with The Amazing Kreskin instead.

+++++

Jeff Ledbetter is receiving a lot of media play prior to the USU - Idaho get-together on Saturday -- here's Tony Jones, The senior did hit some crucial shots in the earlier win for the Vandals but went 3-14 overall, 2-12 from long distance. PTW predicts the senior's accuracy will be better in the upcoming matchup but it goes against sanity to predict that Don Verlin's squad can do it again and we would like to at least keep up the charade that we are still in possession of ours.
