Dan Hinxman on the Wolf Pack

Nevada basketball is certainly consuming the sports news up in Reno.

Remember how the term critical mass was en vogue some time back? It's not heard very much any more. Dan Hinxman uses 'critical junction' in the headline of his column today but also applicable is critical mass, as in does Wolf Pack Coach David Carter have the critical mass within his group of players necessary to take the next step? Is it that simply greater experience is necessary? Label this one of those great debate questions. The answer will be offered by many but only truly be known at least a year or maybe two down the road.

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
