Weeks of speculation over what might happen with the scholarship slot left open on the WSU roster can now be confirmed.

Coach Ken Bone has won the recruiting battle for Steven Bjornstad. Official word was released by Washington State University Athletics early Thursday afternoon that Bjornstad has signed a Financial Aid Agreement and will join the team as part of the Class of 2009...
Go here for the remainder.

Actually, maybe we are being too glib here. St. Mary's, Santa Clara and Portland (re)offered him after his departure from Nevada. What we haven't been able to confirm is if he (re)visited any of those schools after his release. Bjornstad did make visits to St. Mary's and Santa Clara prior to initially deciding on Nevada. Our guess is Bjornstad tripped to Pullman (officially or unofficially), if anywhere, due to the number of official visits maxing out at five per NCAA regs.
