Thursday's WAC basketball digest

New Mexico State had no trouble with Cal State Bakersfield, leading by seven at the half and then exploding to a 62-46 lead with six minutes remaining before finishing out at 78-57. It was Big Wen Night.

Chris Murray has his keys and prediction to the pairing up tonight of host Nevada - Utah State, plus he provides a second feature. Tony Jones, Shawn Harrison and Kraig Williams also all preview a match that again should be on ESPN.

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
