Raymond Cody not heading to Pacific

Antelope Valley College's Raymond Cody, a 6-foot-5 sophomore backcourter did not meet academic requirements to transfer to Pacific and will be at AVC for at least the fall semester. Idaho also offered him (as did San Francisco) but it's anyone's guess as to whether Coach Don Verlin will be interested in Cody as a 2010 signee.

Raymond Cody, 6’5”, 200 two-guard announced that he will not be going to Pacific University as planned this year as, he did not successfully complete this summer one final required class. Without this class, Pacific withdrew the scholarship offer to Raymond...

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
