D.J. Wright has been Kerry Rupp's most heralded prep recruit to date even if Wright ended up needing to go the JC route at Salt Lake City College. He put up superb numbers this season and won the most valuable player award at the national junior college tournament.
Now he has changed addresses, departing from Salt Lake to play at Mt. San Jacinto College in southern California. A hat tip to SeldomSeenSmith at the Scout Utah State site message board for digging this up and posting the information.
We did a bit more excavating and came across the following article:

Mt. San Jacinto College may have pulled off a major coup in recruiting for the 2009-10 men's basketball season with the addition of sophomore D.J. Wright, a transfer from Salt Lake Community College.
"I think our reputation for graduating guys and placing them at a higher level was a big part of getting D.J.," MSJC coach Patrick Springer said. "(At SLCC), I don't think they felt D.J. was getting the help he needed academically. He's got some work to do academically..."
So is Wright still Ruston bound? Does he head to the NBA if his academics fall short again? Last (and definitely least but it adds some sizzle), Mt. San Jacinto Coach Patrick Springer is a former assistant coach at San Jose State. No, Wright will not be asking do you know the way to San Jose.

Earlier in the year, Norm Parrish, the head coach at SLCC stated that Wright needed to do some academic work. He obviously didn't get it done, and wasn't going to be qualified to play at SLCC. So, he moved on to Mt. San Jacinto. It appears that Wright is one of those gifted players who just can't handle the academics, moves from school to school, and eventually ends up dropping off the radar.
