Friday's WAC hoops world

Grapevine (Texas) High's Daniel Green has popped up on the Save Mart Center basketball message board (Scout Bark Board) but it isn't appearing to be a Fresno State love match for the 6-foot-8 prepster. Rivals' Jerry Meyers is reporting that no Bulldog offer is on the table -- 10 schools have -- and a visit to Tulsa is forthcoming.

Gary Trousdale, the basketball director at Westwind Prep -- a prep school home to a major talent collection this season -- tweeted this the other day:

"USC, Washington State, LaSalle, Rhode Island, Murray State, Utah State, Pepperdine confirmed for scrimmage tonight. Among a few others..."

Stew Morrill was at Antelope Valley College the other day, checking out the prospects at that southern California community college.

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
