It looks like Stew Morrill landed a last minute player -- one Leon Cooper, a backcourter originally out of the Bahamas.
BGAggieBlue started a thread at the SCOUT Utah State site basketball forum and usufan1 located the identifying information. Others have now chipped in with details.
Cooper is 6-foot, athletic but in need of weight/strength and but not necessarily pegged as a point or a two guard -- although his size says the former. He played this past season at Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kansas, was enrolled at a school in Texas prior to that and has been in the U.S. for three years.
Here's a 2010 article indicating recruiting interest from TCU, Oral Roberts and Louisiana Tech in Cooper. Elsewhere, we found Wichita State also had interest but the Shockers' coaching staff supposedly decided someone with greater experience was needed on the roster
It also looks like Cooper displayed baseball talent as a pitcher and infielder while still in the Bahamas.
Anyone know if the plan is for him to redshirt athletically?
If so, he would join 6-foot-3 Antonio Bumpus, 6-foot-5 Norvell Pelle and 6-foot-4 Steven Thornton in various forms of 'shirting -- if PTW has its facts correct.

Aggieville explained today Cooper's situation, that he will play, etc. It also talks about how Brokeith Pane is looking.
