We'll take the challenge of swimming against the tide on a day of football.
It isn't the Georgetown of Patrick Ewing but the Hoyas are still plenty formidable as Stew Morrill has scheduled an early December game in our nation's capitol versus John Thompson's III and his squad, which is fairly young and minus star center Greg Monroe who is now in the NBA.
Lose and the game will have gone as expected but win and the national press will definitely take notice.
But GT does have freshman forward Moses Abraham whose play is expected to reach biblical proportions.
Plus, it will be fun to see which 'system' triumphs.

Here's an interesting feature on high schoolers rated with two stars or less who have blossomed into excellent college players. This reminds us somewhat of Jared Quayle who was star-less coming out of high school but he developed his body and his game in two seasons at a junior college and, after a superb run at Utah State, is now playing for pay overseas. A better example is Ramon Sessions as he wasn't all that heralded in the prep ranks -- although it was his iffy eligibility status that forced him to sign late -- and look at what he has accomplished.

Back with more if we can stumble across such.

As a hoops fan "GT" to me is Georgia Tech and not Georgetown.
