So who are the five basketball recruits attending the Boise State football game? Derrick Marks is certainly one and he has to be at the top of Leon Rice's wish list, according to his description.

PTW thinks it's a given that Seattle and Denver are shoo-ins as non-basketball -- er, make that non- football playing, tip o' the hat to the commenter below -- additions to the WAC and what's not to like about that?
It's two large television markets although Seattle plays fourth fiddle in the state behind Washington, WSU and Gonzaga. Coach Cam Dollar had an inexplicably solid team last season and his recruiting prowess is formidable. He picks off players departing from Lorenzo Romar's program, plus the Northwest, particularly the Emerald City, is producing D-1 prospects every year.
Coach Joe Scott has Denver on the rise too. Overall coverage of Colorado and Colorado State will always supersede that of DenverU but, like Seattle, Denver has a bigtime newspaper willing to make sure the homies aren't forgotten.
So let's hear that formal announcement soon.

Just to be sure... don't you mean that they would be good additions as non-FOOTBALL members of the WAC? Also, are there any rumors out there of any other conferences getting shaken up within the next few years that would free up some other, bigger schools for the WAC? Or have we looked more into poaching from the mwc? Pretty much just wondering what schools are really in consideration after hearing about all the Texas schools, Montanas, etc.
Thanks for correcting my error -- as for landing any football playing institutions, my sense is that will come from the two or three schools down in Texas and that's it.
All the other rumored possibilities don't have the needed money or infrastructure.
It's hard to see any other D-1 conference member jumping to the WAC -- at least anytime soon.
