Saturday's WAC digest (it's already time to get serious edition)

Things really gets cookin' tonight with every team in action.

In the heavyweight tussle of the day (or night), Utah State and Nevada climb on to the court in what should be a spectacular pairing what with both playing really sharp ball.

Chris Murray writes about the contest. Chris also offers his keys and a prediction.

Matt Sonnenberg, Tony Jones, Shawn Harrison and Kraig Williams all preview the event (which should be on ESPN2 instead of some molasses of excitement poker tournament).

Idaho welcomes Fresno State and the burden for victory is on the Vandals, who were bopped by visiting Nevada Thursday night. The Verlin-ites were read a degree of the riot act by their coach after looking and playing 'uninspired' against the Wolf Pack. Look for a quick hook if anyone isn't pedal to the metal for the hosts. An 0-2 record, with both being home games, would put Idaho in a big hole.

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
