Two small items

Remember Vonchae' Richardson? He was a Washington State high school basketballer connected to Idaho Vandal recruiting at one point last season but he apparently lost his appeal for a fifth year of prep eligibility and wasn't allowed to take the court.

We just found him at Saddleback (CA) College.as a 6-foot-0 175 pound freshman -- alongside Wendell Faines who just committed to Coach Don Verlin.

Also of interest (to USU fans), Terrell Mack is a sophomore on the same team -- he's a former Utah Stater recruiting target whose academics forced a detour to the community college ranks.

Idaho added another recruit for the backcourt -- Vonchae' Richardson out of Franklin High in Seattle. A few weeks back, we left several messages on his phone and sent a couple of emails to his high school coach but they remained incommunicado. Oh well, congrats to the young man for earning a college basketball scholarship. From a couple of reports we read, it appears Richardson is a fifth-year senior this season at Franklin.

Such as it is, a Vonchae' Richardson update

We left a number of phone messages with Franklin High (Seattle) basketballer Vonchae' Richardson plus a pair of emails to his high school coach Jason Kerr but mum was the apparent word since nobody responded to our inquiries about the accuracy of one report that had Richardson aligned with the Idaho basketball program.

We have 'out-sourced' -- so to speak -- the question to a Seattle sports reporter who is looking into the matter.

A couple of things we are working on

Many thanks to Sam Wasson, Chris Murray, Jason Groves, Travis Mason-Bushman and probably a few we cannot think of at the moment for the water they are carrying right now. We love lists and it's been list-o-mania of late. Keep 'em coming.

We have a couple of calls into Vonchae' Richardson, the Washington prepster who supposedly has committed to Idaho but no voice-to-voice as yet. We've also been trying to reach his high school coach and will keep at it.

Plus, Vaughn Autry, the Gardena Serra (CA) backcourter who gave a verbal commit to Utah State is back on the market. This apparently is a Utah State decision but we don't know anything else at the moment. We will talk with him soon and get the details.

Los Alamitos guard James Walker's trip to Logan this past weekend now makes more sense.
