Parsing The WAC: conference realignment

So if Utah State and San Jose State depart...

PTW generally ignores conference realignment possibility articles, instead preferring to focus on when something actually happens but Tony Jones has a solid read up on 'talk' about Utah State and San Jose State heading to the Mountain West Conference.

If such moves come to fruition, we also want to see New Mexico State and Idaho becoming affiliated with the Mountain West as both would add to the basketball strength of the conference plus as much football prowess as USU and SJSU.

Plus, it simply makes sense for LA TECH to become more geographically affiliated.

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
