Tuesday's p.m. edition

Louisiana Tech rumbled past Houston Baptist 80-57 tonight. It was 43-35 after the first 20 minutes. Olu Ashaolu put up a 21/13 double-double. It's game on versus the Cape Canaveral Calvinists next...just kidding for the uber literal.

Playing off of the above, Chris Murray writes about the overall league ranking at this point -- it isn't pretty. Some opportunity for improvement awaits but each game will have the WAC team as an underdog.

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
