As expected, New Mexico State ran Northern New Mexico out of Las Cruces 67-37. The Aggies led 34-13 after the first 20 minutes. Forward Renaldo Dixon led with 12 points (6-7 shooting).

Host Denver tangled with Colorado State and fell short 60-53. Chase Hallam led the Pioneers with 19 points. Royce O'Neale added 16 but on 5-16 shooting. Chris Udofia contributed just two points but seven rebounds. Coach Joe Scott's group shot just 30% for the night.

Seattle got the better of Pacific Lutheran to the tune of 58-49. The Redhawks led 30-19 at intermission. Forward Clarence Trent went for 17 points and five rebounds for Coach Cameron Dollar, whose squad shot 41%.
