Will this effect any WAC teams down the line?

It's all still a bit hazy -- any specific date, numbers that must be met, etc. -- but the NCAA is making the APR number a benchmark for participation in the Big Dance.

Steve Wieberg/USA TODAY reports.

It's PTW's guess that Utah State should have no concern -- not sure about others.

The current 4-yr APR averages for the WAC schoools:

Fresno State - 890
Hawai'i - 927
Idaho - 911
LA Tech - 892
NM State - 873
Nevada - 934
San Jose State - 904
Utah State - 933

Incoming WAC schools:
Denver - 958
Seattle - 969 (only 2 yrs of data)
UT-Arlington - 943
UTSA - 875

So hypothetically if the new rule were to apply this coming season (which obviously it will not), only Nevada and Utah State would be eligible for the NCAA Tournament.
