Today's WAC links so far

When will Nintendo issue a Dario Kart game? Chris Murray/Reno Gazette-Journal offers a feature on Nevada's primo shotblocker -- Dario Hunt -- and we want to see him racing up and down the floor, obstacles and roadblocks be damned.

Brian McInnis/Honolulu Star Bulletin writes that Calabasas High's Jordan Coleman will fax in his signed letter-of-intent today. Yesterday's holiday prevented the backcourter from doing it then.

Godwin Okonji, who visited Hawaii and other schools is waiting until the April signing period to decide on his college. The Findlay Prep 'big' apparently is beginning to receive some notice from the big boys. From the main Scout site yesterday came this: "Findlay assistant coach Todd Simon told us their senior big man Godwin Okonji will sign in the spring. He's taken official visits to TCU, Hawaii and New Mexico, but has fielded recent calls from Connecticut, Oklahoma and Colorado recently."

Ron Tyler at his From The Blue Seats site, projects a new name to Louisiana Tech's recruiting class in 6-foot-9, 210 pound Scottie Farrington: "He originally signed with Oral Roberts and was also recruited by Tulane, Louisiana Tech and Texas A&M among others. Did not qualify and ended up at Rogers State (NAIA school) for one season..." Go here for the remainder.

Nevada athletics provided this official announcement: Jordan Burris of Bakersfield, Calif., has signed a national letter of intent to study and play basketball at the University of Nevada beginning in 2010-11, first-year head coach David Carter announced Wednesday.

A 6-6, 205-pound wing, Burris comes to Nevada from Stockdale High School in Bakersfield, Calif. He finished second in Kern County in scoring last year with 23.0 points per game. He also led his team with 8.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.1 steals per contest while shooting 51 percent from the field and 38 percent from three-point land. Burris earned first-team All-Bakersfield Area and All-Southwest Yosemite League honors last season.

"Jordan is a very good athlete with the ability to finish above the rim," Carter said. "He also is an excellent three-point shooter. We're very excited to have him as part of our Wolf Pack family."
