University of New Mexico men's basketball coach Steve Alford's understated not only how his Lobos played in Tuesday's 97-87 victory over New Mexico State, but identified an early trend that is disturbing for Aggies fans.

The Aggies have given up 197 points in two games - losses to Saint Mary's and UNM.

But the Aggies have made life difficult on themselves early in games. The Aggies have been outscored 93-62 in the first half after two games. NMSU opponents have put pressure on the Aggies early, jumping out to a 39-25 combined lead in the first 10 minutes...
