Saturday's mini WAC-apalooza

Tony Jones returns from vacation and offers his take on the WAC in 2010 - 2012. All we will tease with is that his projected top team isn't from the Beehive State.

Not all of the postseason wheeling and dealing is through. Not by a long shot. Armon Johnson has left school, never to return to a college basketball court after signing with an agent. Jahmar Young has entered the NBA draft, although this blog hopes he wises up and does the right thing by returning to Las Cruces because he's not ready for the league.

With that, Aggieville attempts to project how teams will finish up next season...
Go here for the remainder.

It's Armon Johnson Central at the Reno Gazette-Journal.

Dan Hinxman provides a different look at Johnson here. Chris Murray has more background here and also here.

Chris also updates the recruitment of Illiwa Baldwin here. South Carolina? Yes, the conference is prestigious but 3,000 or so miles from the west coast geographic area which is where Baldwin initially said he preferred as his D-1 destination.

Plus, Chris has an article on Luke Babbitt and his upcoming decision here. PTW's take is that Babbitt would go higher than Johnson -- somewhere in the first round -- and that Mr. B will face a lot more double-teaming if he returns to play for the Wolf Pack next season. Also, he will develop at a quicker pace by going pro and facing that
daily mano - a - mano challenge. But ultimately, he returns for one more season. Again, that's the ol' gut speaking.
