Fresno State to get a visit from Gonzaga transfer

Former Gonzaga point G.J. Vilarino will be hitting Fresno State (probably this weekend) on his cross-country tour seeking a new basketball home. Go here.for Jim Meehan's report.

Here is a piece from May 2010 on Vilarino's departure from Spokane.

It appears that Vilarino is tremendously athletic and will attack the paint but his shot remains a work-in-progress, thus allowing defenders to play off him outside. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
