Wednesday's WAC basketball roundup

Two sources have now told PTW that former Pepperdine frontcourter Ramon Eaton is headed to New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, New Mexico.

The 6-foot-8 Eaton averaged 2.6 points and 2.5 rebounds a game last season as a freshman, playing 12.7 minutes a contest.

There is nothing to base this on at the moment but could New Mexico State be in his future? He is originally out of the Sacramento area where he was a four year starter and averaged a double-double as a senior.

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
