San Jose State falls to Bakersfield

Cal State Bakersfield has played Boise State (a four point loss) and St. Mary's (a six point loss) close this season and San Jose State was without two starters but it appears the Spartan problems go deeper than missing players per SJSU Coach George Nessman.

The celebration was somewhat muted Monday night so there wasn't an appearance of showing up the opponent.

But there were a lot of smiles from the Cal State Bakersfield players after the Roadrunners controlled San Jose State from the start in a 61-55 win before 1,493 at Rabobank Arena.

CSUB (5-12) broke a three-game losing streak while winning just its second game since the Thanksgiving weekend...

For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision.
