Utah State wins big over Utah

The Utah State versus Utah hoops rivalry appears to be concluded -- at least for now -- but Ute Coach Jim Boylen wishes it had ended last year as his squad fell 79-62 in Logan. Any chance PAC-10 Commish Larry Scott is wishing he could substitute USU hoops for the Salt Lake City counterparts?

Tai Wesley led the Aggies with 21 points. Brady Jardine was right behind with 20 and earned a double-double with 13 boards.

USU was supreme on in the battle of the boards at 44-30. Utah committed 26 fouls to 17 for the Aggies.

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
