Utah State does it/LA TECH wins again

Utah State handed it to BYU tonight by the score of 71-61. Jared Quayle paced the Aggies with 22 points, getting half his points total at the foul line. The Cougars long range shooting cooled down in the second 20 minutes. Before fouling out, Nate Bendall posted a double-double of 14 points and 10 boards. Tai Wesley just missed with 13 points and nine boards.

Jimmer Fredette paced BYU with 19 points but it came on 5-15 shooting. Jonathan Tavernari shot 1-11 and finished with four points.

Louisiana Tech won another one tonight, beating Louisiana Monroe 76-73. Kyle Gibson led the way with 26 points, including 5-8 from long distance. DeAndre Brown contributed 16. Magnum Rolle grabbed 13 boards -- nine offensively -- before fouling out. Jamel Guyton also fouled out as did Olu Ashaolu. The Bulldogs out-boarded ULM 41-30.

Hawaii was down to host UC Irvine 37-22 at the half. The Rainbow Warriors got hot in the second half but still fell 80-70. Now it's back to the islands.
