A Boise State recruiting target?

Here's a note from an August 10 column we stumbled across:

"Another CdM player garnering attention is Danny Cheek, a first-team All-Pacific Coast League selection. Schachter said the University of Portland is recruiting the 6-3 guard hard.

“He wants to go there,” [Corona del Mar Coach Ryan] Schachter said of Cheek, who led the Sea Kings in scoring, averaging 13.8 points per game last season as a junior. “He really likes Portland, but he wants to take an official visit. That could be the best fit, but he’s going to look and see what other schools are interested. There’s interest from UC [Santa Barbara], [Northern Arizona University], Boise State and Northern Colorado.”
