The world of the WAC on Tuesday

Fresno State receives a mention for having offered southern California backcourter Cesar Guerrero (as one of many schools) but it appears Western Kentucky, Oklahoma and UNLV are the frontruinners -- at least at the moment.  Go here and a Rivals sub is required. But it never hurts to be an offerer as situations change and bouncebacks also do occur.

Sportsbow, who chronicles UH recruiting better than anyone else, is reporting (go here) that Santa Monica CC (CA) forward DeShawn Stephens has offers from Hawaii and Utah State. Look for that number -- just from the other WAC members -- to increase. It's well documented that Stephens visited Utah State but does anyone know about him as yet touching down in Hawaii?

+++++

Former Nevada basketballer Garry Hill-Thomas has departed from coaching high school hoops and will now scout for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Go here.

+++++

Brian Murphy reports that Texas State and UT San Antonio are confirmed for making presentations to the WAC membership committee a week from now.

In the same vein, Andy Katz writes that Denver will also be present.

+++++

For purely selfish (and obvious) reasons, PTW hopes one of the WAC coaches reaches out to Erie Community College forward God's Gift Achiuwa, a native of Nigeria. He is also quite the talent, having averaged 13 points, 13.4 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game during his freshman campaign. .
