Sunday's WAC-aroo

Brian McInnis writes about how UH basketball's upcoming trip to Asia impressively came together. It's a blessing and quite an asset to be the sole D-1 university repping a state.

Marek Warszawski's three dot column today has a pair of Fresno State basketball-related entries. One is about certain contents in Chris Herren's new book (Tark supporters won't like it) and the other is this:

"Tim Steed isn't a superstar or even all-conference, but he was still Fresno State's third-best player last season behind Greg Smith and Kevin Olekaibe.

If new coach Rodney Terry can produce a winner with this roster, we'll be equal parts impressed and surprised."

PTW feels at least one new player will still be arriving in the San Joaquin, be it a point or a big.

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
