What the WAC is up to in hoops on Wednesday

Josh Gershon (again, and again and again, he's money for West Coast recruiting info) recently tweeted this:

"Nevada head coach David Carter as well as assistants from Pepperdine & U.C. Irvine are here at Campbell Hall watching 2012 forward Cole Huff"

Huff is a 6-foot-7 prep wing who in November 2010 committed to San Diego State but eventually decided to open his recruitment back up. Speculation was that Steve Fisher loaded up on other recruits Huff's size (transfers J.J. O'Brien and Dwaye Polee) and told the young man it would be best to head elsewhere. But only the Huffs and the San Diego State coaching staff know the truth.

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
