Stressing we don't know who it was, a strange happening -- one worth mentioning -- took place Monday night during halftime of the New Mexico State win over San Jose State.
That being a New Mexico State player -- one of the 'bigs -- didn't immediately go to the locker room during the intermission. He had a basketball and was shooting during the break. Then with just a few minutes remaining in the half, he finally headed towards the locker room.
We know it wasn't Hamidu Rahman or Wendell McKines -- that much is still imbedded in our consciousness but we didn't play much attention to such an unusual occurrence for some inexplicable reason.
Did anyone else also note this or does someone have an explanation? Or did we just have a vision caused by over-imbibing/a carbohydrate overload/a sugar rush?
Also, here's a nice feature on Aggie Wendell McKines, who is moving to the fore as the top New Mexico State player:

AMONG THE barely 1,000 fans at San Jose State's Event Center on Monday night, there was no mistaking the loud throng of 30 or so who were there for Wendell McKines' homecoming.
"Oh, I could hear them," McKines said after scoring a career-high 21 points to help New Mexico State beat the Spartans 75-73. "They were right behind our bench."
His mom was there. So were his grandparents, siblings, friends. All the people whose love and support prompted the Richmond High grad to return home last spring after his freshman season in Las Cruces, N.M.
"It was hard for him," said Stephanie Drake, his mother. "He had a hard time adjusting. He likes to be around family..." Go here for the remainder.
Plus, here's Jason Groves with a Hamidu Rahman feature:

LAS CRUCES -—Hamidu Rahman finds the basketball in crucial situations.
On Monday in San Jose, Calif., the New Mexico State redshirt freshman center trailed a 2-on-2 fastbreak in the waning seconds against San Jose State, grabbing an offensive rebound on a Jahmar Young miss with five seconds left and getting fouled on the put back with three seconds remaining. Rahman calmly stepped to the foul line, where he is a 58 percent shooter, and knocked down the first free throw.
San Jose State called timeout.
No matter. Rahman dropped the second shot to give the Aggies a 75-73 win to move to 2-0 in the Western Athletic Conference.
"Jahmar just told me to relax and if you miss the first one, just relax and shoot the second one," said Rahman, who finished with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting, seven rebounds and was 3-of-6 from the foul line. "Even if I missed them, we were going into overtime... Go here for the remainder.

Troy Gillenwater was benched for the entire second half. I'd bet it was him.
The player that was on the court at halftime was Troy Gillenwater. He and Menzies got into it right before halftime and my guess is that Menzies kicked him out of the locker room at halftime. Gillenwater didn't leave the bench in the 2nd half.
