WAC team travel

Travel is a portion of the subject matter in the song "Master of the House" -- a selection in the musical play "Les Miserables" -- quite the enjoyable experience if you haven't witnessed it yet.

Here's a portion of the lyrics:

"...Enter Monsieur
Lay down yer load
Unlace yer boots
And rest from the road
This weighs a ton
Travel's a curse
But here we strive
To lighten your purse.."

Ah yes, take heed of these wise words: “Remember what Bilbo used to say: It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.”

Just how does this connect to WAC basketball?

Leave it to Chris Murray as he relates the road (air?) warriors of the Western Athletic Conference. Certain members of the WAC always make the top 10 in travel miles and this is a factor at play in 'lightening" the win-loss records of these teams.

Travel in the WAC: Gotta love it

For the last couple of seasons, ESPN.com's Kyle Whelliston has compiled a list of teams that will travel the most over the course of the season. Last season, Nevada placed third on the list with 21,009 miles. Not suprsingly, the WAC dominated the list last season and does so again this season. Here are the Top 10s (WAC teams in bold)...
Go here for the remainder.
