LOGAN — Stew Morrill might not have joined the masses partying and celebrating the end of 2008, but he'll probably wake up feeling as if he'd been on an all-night bender of sorts.
That's what an emotional roller-coaster ride of a basketball game will do to a coach, and Morrill said he felt as tired as any of his players after the Aggies (12-1) held on for a raucous 90-85 overtime win against Wyoming on New Year's Eve in the finale of the Gossner Foods Duel in the Desert... What a way to ring in the New Year.
It was still more than an hour before 2009 arrived, but the Aggies certainly had plenty to celebrate. Utah State kept its home winning streak alive, as well as winning in its own tournament Wednesday night against Wyoming. But it took an extra five minutes before the Aggies could relax.
The Cowboys forced overtime, but USU led the entire OT for a 90-85 win in the final game of the Duel in the Desert, sponsored by Gossner Foods... Go here for the remainder.
