It didn't take long for New Mexico State head coach Marvin Menzies to realize something was different about the Event Center when his team first visited SJSU this season.

"I have never heard the Event Center be so loud," Menzies said in a postgame news conference after his team was defeated 93-84 on Jan. 23.

The win over the Aggies capped off arguably one of the most exciting times in the history of SJSU basketball.

SJSU finished the season with a record of 14-16 and 6-10 in the Western Athletic Conference...

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
