Following Denzel Douglas

5-foot-11 point Denzel Douglas of Casper College signed with Idaho in November so he'll be heading to Moscow come late summer.

So what has he accomplished so far this season for the Thunderbirds?

In eight games to date (21 minutes a contest), 8.3 points per game, 54% overall shooting, 2-7 from long distance, 10-14 from the foul line, 5.3 rebounds each time out, a 45/11 assist-to-turnover ration plus 20 steals.

Heck, his board work is tied for first on the team!

Landon Tatum is a senior for the Vandals, as is second-leading passer Deremy Geiger, so there will be opportunity for playing time to be earned and Douglas looks to be the primo candidate at the point.

For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
