Cordarius Johnson came out of the Bayou State high school basketball ranks fairly unheralded, being a much more prominent football player.
In 11 starts in 31 games as a frosh @ Louisiana Tech (16.4 minutes per game), he averaged 4.3 points on a team badly in need of offensive any firepower available.
After a coaching change and with greater talent (added competition plus more players requiring defensive attention) added to the team, Johnson has blossomed in a 13 points per contest sophomore stalwart in 27+ minutes per game. He is shooting 44% overall, 39% from long distance. Plus, Johnson is grabbing a second-on-the-team 4.6 rebounds each time out.
If Johnson keeps climbing, look for him to start receiving some All-WAC attention as an upperclassman.
