New Mexico State had no resistance from Southern University to the tune of 91-66 as a 54 point second half did the job. Wendell McKines' double-double of 20/16 paced the Aggies and Hamidu Rahman powered up his own DD of 16/9.

Fresno State made it close but the Boise State Broncos prevailed up in Idaho 70-63. A healthier Kevin Olekaibe totaled 28 points on 17 shots while backcourt mate Tyler Johnson contributed 17. The Bulldogs shot 46% overall and held the Broncos to 40% but a 22-36 rebounding deficit played out well for the hosts.
