Saturday's WAC basketball recap

San Jose State led Seattle 27-24 at the half and ended up winning the Elgin Baylor Classic 84-74, led by James Kinney's 31 points. Terry Wood offers a game report.

Tonight's New Year's Eve games:

Utah State has a very interesting matchup versus Mississippi State down in the Magnolia State. Kraig Williams, Shawn Harrison and Tony Jones spell out the details. A victory against any SEC team is a major plus in the RPI, especially so when it Miss. State 2011-12.

LA TECH is in Dallas to face Southern Methodist.

Hawaii hosts UNLV in a pairing that offers a statement opportunity for the Rainbow Warriors. Dayton Morinaga previews.

Idaho and Boise State go at it in Nampa. Josh Wright and Nick Jezierny both look at the matchup.

New Mexico State gets a chance for redemption in hosting Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
