The Five & Five WAC

The teams in the WAC have divided themselves to date this season into what PTW will call the five and five.

Meaning there are five teams who for various reasons have a good to decent chance of winning come each game time, those being:

* Louisiana Tech 10-0 (duh!)
* New Mexico State 9-2
* Denver 9-2
* Utah State 7-4
* UT Arlington 5-5 (not all that talented but will always bring tough defense which gives them better odds to succeed)

Unfortunately, this means five teams fall into the category of you don't know what you are going to witness on the court nightly, those being:

* Idaho 5-6
* San Jose State 3-8
* Texas State 3-8
* Seattle U 2-9
* UTSA 1-10

Yes, Idaho is included because ... you just don't know.  The Vandals took down UT Arlington 77-64 and also played Louisiana Tech tough (72-66), both on the road, plus fell by one to New Mexico State and to Denver by six at home. But Coach Don Verlin's guys lacks a victory this season against anyone rated superior. Being last in turnover margin is negating being first in free throw percentage, tops in three-point accuracy and second in overall shooting.

The other teams just currently don't have the overall talent level to compete, meaning they lack enough guys who consistently win their position each game, a necessity for a positive W-L record.
