Derrick Williams chooses USC

This comes as absolutely no surprise -- a SoCal prep getting and accepting a PAC-10 offer over all other entreaties is par for the course.

6-8 Derrick Williams of La Mirada High has decided to attend USC. Nevada got a visit from him which is a moral victory but we can't imagine Mark Fox and Company truly ever expected this kid would decide on Reno.

Anonymous said...: Derrick Williams (D WILL) is going to do great at USC. His size, adversity, and knowledge of the game is exceptional. I had the enjoyment of playing with this kid on travel ball for La Mirada Red Storm. I am looking forward for him to make a huge impact on USC's game.

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
