A Jason Groves feature on one of NMSU's newcomers

His name sounds like a foreign movie star but Hernst Laroche is toiling in Las Cruces not LA and doing quite well in picking up the nuances of playing the point in D-1:

LAS CRUCES — Hernst Laroche has been a dream to coach seven games into his college career.

"So far, so good," New Mexico State men's basketball coach Marvin Menzies said. "He is very mature and very stable. He gives you his best effort every night. He just wants to please you and has done a good job by listening and paying attention to detail."

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound freshman point guard from Montreal, Quebec, leads the Western Athletic Conference with a 2.7 assist to turnover ratio...
