There's Ali G and then there's Troy G

This Troy is a heckuva lot better than that turgid 2004 movie. It's will be interesting to see who ends up as WAC Freshman of the Year -- Gillenwater or Babbitt?

LAS CRUCES — With the basketball talent level on campus at New Mexico State, it's not surprising to see Aggies leading certain statistical categories in the Western Athletic Conference.

With the possible exception of Troy Gillenwater. At 6-foot-8 and blessed with athletic ability and versatility on the offensive end, Gillenwater is second in the league with two blocks per game.

He led the league until last week..."

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
