The Nevada basketball team turned a shortcoming into a position of strength Sunday and as a result walked away with its most impressive victory of the season.

One of the Wolf Pack’s biggest weaknesses through its first eight games of the season had been its inability to defend early in the second half.
There were no such issues Sunday against Southern Illinois as the Wolf Pack forced the Salukis to miss 18 of their first 19 shots after intermission — holding them scoreless for a 9 minute, 29 second stretch — en route to a 62-48 victory in front of 5,845 fans at Lawlor Events Center...
