New Mexico State hosted Denver last night, a meeting of the #3 and #2 teams in the WAC, and NMSU led 29-22 after a sluggish 20 minutes. Then the pace and scoring 's-l-o-w-e-d' down to a 53-42 finish in favor of the Aggies. Tyrone Watson led in points with 12 and nabbed six rebounds while Daniel Mullings went for 11/8 and Bandja Sy 10/8. NMSU won the battle of the boards 40-24. Nobody scored in double figures for the Pioneers who shot 3-18 from long distance and attempted but four free throws. However, Royce O'Neale came close to a double-double with nine points and 10 boards. Now it's the #2 and #3 teams.
