We know the records of the WAC teams:
* Utah State 5-0/14-1
* Louisiana Tech 5-0/14-3
* Denver 5-1/9-7
* New Mexico State 4-2/10-8
* UT Arlington 3-2/8-6
* San Jose State 3-2/9-7
* Idaho 2-3/6-9
* Seattle U 0-5/5-10
* UTSA 0-6/4-12
* Texas State 0-6/4-14
Utah State, Louisiana tech and Denver are on five game win streaks with Seattle on a five game slide and UTSA plus Texas State on six-game benders.
Also:
* James Kinney and Preston Medlin will fight it out for the scoring champ -- if Kinney can get back on the court. But Joel Wright at #3 with 18.3 points per game is a new challenger.
* For all the heat PTW has directed at Bandja Sy this season, he stands #8 in scoring at 14.5 points an outing and #5 in rebounding at 7.5.
* Just who is this Brandon Edwards guy atop in rebounding with a 10.2 mark? Check out his official bio. By the way, 4.4 of his caroms are coming on the offensive end.
* Marcel Davis may have cooled down a bit but he is still numero uno in assists per contest at 5.0. He ranks second to SJSU's D.J. Brown in assist-to-turnover ratio 3.1 to 3.5.
* It's going to be Sim Bhullar as the top field goal shooter come the end of the season but USU's Spencer Butterfield and Deonte' Jones of Texas State are out-of-the-paint players sitting at an amazing 59%.
* Texas Arlington and Denver at 36% and 39% respectively are tops in defending shot attempts with San Jose State University sitting at .398%. On the other hand, it's hard to believe UTSA at 57% and Texas State at 51% will remain that high throughout the season. That just can't happen, right?
+++++
* So after five or so games, who is your choice for MVP plus the four guys surrounding him?
