Boise State sneaks in another signing

Just when you think there were no further letter-of-intent signings to announce and all thought turned towards the next period in April, Boise State comes out with one more. It's a junior college freshman 'big' who will have three years of eligibility remaining. In five games so far this season, he is averaging 3.8 points and 3.6 rebounds a contest.

Greg Graham, head men’s basketball coach at Boise State University, announced today the signing of Bryn Prinsloo, a 6-foot-10, 235 pound front line player from Mesa College in Mesa, Arizona, to a National Letter of Intent.

After redshirting his freshman year at Mesa College due to an injury, Prinsloo is currently playing his first year for the Thunderbirds and will have three years to play at Boise State.

During his high school career at Red Mountain, he earned second-team all-region honors his senior season. During his high school career, he set several school records including blocks in a game, blocks in a season and blocks per game. In addition, Prinsloo ranks second at Red Mountain in career blocks and sixth in rebounds recorded in a single game with 16.

“Bryn was valuable for his excellent help defense, work ethic, and intelligence,” said Brent Krieg, Prinsloo’s high school coach. “We were a very good defensive team with him and the fact that he got rebounds for baskets was a bonus. Bryn is a great man who is going to do great things for Boise State.”

Not only was Prinsloo successful on the court, but he excelled in the classroom as well. During his junior and senior years at Red Mountain, he was in several advanced placement (AP) classes which included courses like BC calculus, AP physics and will major in engineering at Boise State.

“We are really excited to add another quality big man to our squad,” said Graham. “Bryn give us an athletic big man who can run, block shots and rebound. Getting Bryn for three years is an added bonus for us and for his development.”
