Shawn Harrison also made the road trip so a big tip o' the hat to the Herald Journal execs for that decision. One recurring thought: isn't Rabobank really, really close to Rob - a - bank?

Rabobank Arena holds a special place for Aggie guard Tyler Newbold.
He made his first career start here two seasons ago and made his team-best 69th start Wednesday night against Cal State Bakersfield. Both visits have been positive for him and the rest of the Utah State men’s basketball team.
The Aggies began a busy stretch on the right foot with a 68-51 win over the Roadrunners. It was the first of five games in eight nights for the Aggies (6-3), who snapped a two-game road losing streak with the victory in front of 4,481 fans — the largest home crowd for CS Bakersfield this season...
Tony Jones, as we noted yesterday, is also in person with the Aggies:

Two years ago, Tai Wesley and Tyler Newbold made the first starts of their career at Rabobank Arena against Cal State Bakersfield.
Both played well. Both shot the ball extremely well. Both hinted at much more to come.
On Wednesday night, against these same Roadrunners, the two again led the Aggies, this time in a dominant 68-51 win before 4,481 in downtown Bakersfield.
"I guess this is a shooters arena," Newbold quipped...
Tony Jones also has a blog entry about the Aggies as a whole and what that might mean to the rest of the WAC:

It doesn't matter the competition. Anytime you hit a team with a 27-2 run over 12 minutes, it's awfully impressive, and that's what Utah State did to Cal State Bakersfield.
Over that point of the game, the Aggies were really dominant. They ran their offense crisply, they defended great. They caused shot clock violations, they simply didn't let the Roadrunners get much done...
