6-foot-2 backcourter James Walker of Los Alamitos High -- a USU signee -- led his squad against mighty Mater Dei on Saturday and came close. Mater Dei has five or six D-1 talents on its roster and Los Al was missing two starters due to injury.
Walker scored 30, going 11-25 overall from the floor. He went 11-18 from two-point range, missing all seven of his three-point attempts. He apparently 'ran out of gas' towards the end.
Here is the game report.
